4. The Little Black Dress
Just like every other year, the little black dress ( a Closet Staple) is VIP for the holiday season! This year, however, I believe that the ever-so-classic piece should have a bit of a twist! Added things such as leather, lace, feathers, geometric cut-outs, and zippers will be key in setting apart one little black dress from the other!

Lace Tier Dress

Forever21

Diane Von Furstenberg 'Arita' Lamb Skin Leather & Ponte Knit Dress
$616.00

5. Purple Nails
During this time of year the typical colors are reds, browns, beige, and black but never purple! This year Purple nails are totally in! Who says you have to abide by the unwritten nail color rules! I say go crazy on the OPI website and get very shade of purple possible! From Lincoln Park after Midnight to Over Exposed at South Beach, Purples, Plums, and Eggplants are the new Holiday shades!

Perfectly Plum

6. Animal Prints
Roar! Animal prints are back on the prowl and taking the holidays by storm! These prints on a shoe, scarf, or bag are the perfect accessories for any simple tunic or black legging! Take a walk on the wild side this holiday season and branch out with animal prints!

Who Wore It Best?

All images are courtesy of Us Weekly
All opinions are my own :)

Stephanie Pratt                           Fantasia Barrino

I have to say Stephanie Pratt Wore this look best! The colors are great with her skin tone and the silhouette looks wonderful on her body shape! Not to mention how elongated her legs look! This look make Fantasia appear to be shorter and the silhouette makes her look a little chunky... and the colors are too dark with her dark complexion.

Jada Pinkette Smith                   Corrine Bailey Rae

Although I think both women wore this dress well, I'd have to say that Jada takes the cake for this fashion standoff! Jada has the total package! The color looks wonderful on her skin tone and her hair is amazing all of that paired with her fabulous shoes, she's definitely got the whole look on lock. Now, Corrine does look great in the dress and the color also looks great on her skin tone, however, this girl's hair is a mess! It's totally throwing off the whole look! She may have won this standoff, had she pulled her hair into a neat side bun or even a messy up-do.... Anything but this afro she has going on. This dress is too elegant for her to wear her just-out-of-the-shower hair!

Kim Kardashian                       Kristin Cavallari

I give this round to Kristin hands down! And  let me start by saying that I LOVE this dress! Anyway, Kristin looks wonderful in this dress! It fits her body type very well and it actually makes her look smaller, which can be a very hard thing to do when a garment has the exaggerated hip! Usually, only "H" frames can pull off such a dress. Which is why I voted against Kim! Kim has such a voluptuous Hourglass frame that this dress actually makes her look heavier. And the belt just adds extra weight to her mid-section. She's such a beautiful girl and we all know she's not heavy, but this dress is NOT doing her "hot bod" any justice!

DIY for Halloween, It's what GaGa would do!

So this year for Halloween I wanted to go as Lady GaGa, as did just about every other girl in the world.... I knew that when I would be going out that there would more-than-likely be other "GaGa's" walking around too and I decided that it was my duty to "Out-GaGa" them all! I've never liked to blend in or look like everyone else especially on Halloween, the one night of the year when you can be whoever you want to be, if only for a few hours! Anyway, I'm a broke college student so I had to "Out-GaGa" these girls (and guys) on a budget! I was looking online at all of the GaGa costumes and, being the bargain shopper that I am,  I just couldn't quite understand how someone could spend $50 on a costume ( that about a million other people would have) and then drop another $20 on a wig, then a good $30 on the other necessary accessories! When it all said and done these people are spending $100+ before they even step foot into a bar on Halloween, just so they can walk into that bar and see at least 3 or 4 other people in the EXACT same outfit! Now don't get me wrong the costumes that were being sold on GaGa's website were fab! They looked legit! But I'm not one to spend a whole bunch of money, AND have a look-a-like confusing my friends all night! So, after all my research, I headed out to Michael's! My best friend, Josh, decided that if I was going as GaGa that he'd have to go as my "Disco Stick" so I decided to mold my costume after the one she wore on the subway in her Love Game video! I took a plain, black, bra, that I already had in my closet and bedazzled it, just like GaGa used to before The Hause of GaGa was around! It cost me about $20 to get the rhinestones and sequins I needed to cover the bra and $20 for the Blonde Wig. Once I got some Fishnets for a whopping $5 my outfit was compete! I paired my bedazzled bra, wig, and fishnets with a leather jacket that I already owned and a par of plain, black, boy shorts and TADA! I was GaGa and I was one-of-a-kind! When I went out that night I felt Fabulous, like I was channeling GaGa, herself! People wanted to stop and take pics with me and I got countless complements and I did it all for a fraction of the cost of a pre-made costume! My Grand Total was about $45 and I had a blast! But this story can be put to use with any costume idea! Just remember to use what you already have, be creative, research, and bargain hunt! There's never a good excuse for looking exactly the same as someone else, even on Halloween!
