If You Love TO Style, You're Gonna Love Looklet!

Well I've found THE website of my dreams! I mean I thought Polyvore was the shiz but it surely doesn't hold a candle to looklet.com ! Even if you don't want to style you should still check it out! It's a TON of fun! The point of the FREE website is to create fashion looks and to do a little fashion social networking you can choose the model, the clothes, the accessories, the location and the photo editing options all with the click of a button! And the best part is that they look legit! It looks like you really went on a shoot and did this stuff! Looklet is perfect for fashion majors! It even gives you the option to see the look from front, back, and close up views! You can also search by designers and brands so if you wanted to create a lookbook you could do so using only items from a specific designer or store!! I sure wish I had known about this when I was in school! I created an 8 look lookbook in less than an hour!! below you'll see some of the things I did and hopefully these looks will inspire you to get your own looklet account :)

Pretty Little Liars: The Most Fashionable Young Females On Television

Young women everywhere are finding themselves drooling over the ensembles that Aria, Hannah, Emily, and Spencer are wearing! These characters truly are the epitome of young fashion. Since this abc family teen drama released in the summer of 2010, young girls everywhere have been glued to their TV screens every Monday night. These characters are influencing how tweens everywhere dress and the lady behind it all is costume designer Mandi Line. Mandi's inspiration for designing the show's wardrobe was to create "obtainable fashion looks" for the characters. With fast fashion becoming the new normal, it comes as no surprise to me that this trend has begun to catch on in the television styling world as well. Mandi stated to the writers of stylelist.com  "What I like to do is ask (myself), 'Where would this character shop in real life?' From there, Line creates looks that combine retail and thrift. Perhaps this is why so many young women are so drawn to the looks they see on PLL. Whatever the draw may be, this show truly has influenced a new age bracket and has encouraged individualistic style from an even younger age. Say goodbye to those awkward middle school years where fashion is a mystery and say hello to a new tribe of tweens who enjoy rocking the current trends along with the rest of us! So my pretty little addicts, if you like what you see on the character of PLL, you can more than likely find it at H&M, Forever21 or any of your other fave fast fashion spots :) I'll be posting inspiration looks based on each of the characters and their style to show my readers how to get the PLL look for cheap!

I'm going a little cray cray for this new GaGa Harper's Bazaar shoot!

I have yet again fallen head over (6 inch) heels in love with GaGa's most recent photo shoot! This time with Harper's Bazaar! What I love most about this shoot vs. previous GaGa shoots is how much fun she seems to be having! These photos don't follow the same trend, there is no common theme, it doesn't tell a story its just straight GaGa and thats why it's so amazing! I found these on gagadaily.com

Wedding season in upon us!

And because of this I have been on the look out for new trends in wedding planning... While researching 2011 wedding trends I stumbled upon something that I immediately fell in love with! The personalized hanger! These are soooo cute and even though they are just a teeny tiny part of the biggest day of a girls life I think they are pretty awesome! If you're struggling to find a unique gift to give at a wedding shower... well these are the perfect things to give! Not only are they non-returnable :) BUT they also show the bride and groom that you put more thought into your pre-wedding gift and didn't just head over to the closest Target to buy them a waffle iron or knife set off their generic gift registry... not to mention this kind of thing could become a family heirloom... perhaps this couple has a boy.. the mother could pass it down to her future daughter-in-law someday and so on and so forth! I think these are a wonderful and unique aspect to any wedding! Not to mention the bride can have them made for each of her bridesmaids too :) and they make for a great "getting ready" photo op! Just check them out! And did I mention how cheap they happen to be on www.etsy.com only $25 for a personalized hanger!

Accessory Trends: Spring/Summer 2011

It's that time of year again - The time when we prepare to shed our winter layers and trade in those knee-high boots for some strappy gladiator sandals! With all the thoughts you have about getting a new spring wardrobe, complete with light cotton fabrics and flowy floral dresses, has anyone taken the time to think about how to accessorize these simple summer looks? Well, I have and I'm here to tell you fellow fashion addicts whats hot in accessory trends for Spring/Summer 2011!

Inspiration for Spring/Summer 2011 accessories come from natural or organic things such as seashells. pearls and feathers paired with industrial things like chains and harsh metals. I personally like to call this the Natural Industrialization trend. This is when man made things like chains and metals are paired with natural things like pearls and feathers. The two ideas conflict creating accessories that look like wearable art! Necklaces will be layers upon layers of chains and ribbon making the neck look weighted down. Earrings will be shoulder length and will include feathers, beads, chains, and rhinestones. Bangles will be made of crushed shells, carved wood, and floral prints and will be worn in bundles.  These accessories trends differ from the usual Spring/Summer trends that consist of simple, lightweight jewelry. These trends truly excite me and can take even the most simple t-shirt and jean shorts look and turn it into something eye-popping! This season keep your clothes simple and let your accessories do the talking because these truly are the epitome of the Statement Piece!

Barbie goes GaGa

As a child I was a very avid Barbie Doll collector! When it came time for me to sell them, my mother and I counted almost 200 dolls.  I always had the doll replica of the latest and greatest pop stars like Britney Spears and of course the Spice Girls gang. Now, Hong Kong doll garment maker Veik, has brought GaGa into the world of Barbie! Both he child and the little monster inside me are dying to have one of these. Part of me wants to go buy a barbie right now and try my best to replicate one of these intricate mini-hause of GaGa masterpieces! Either way they are terribly fun to look at and in my case, dream about having on display! I hope all of you fellow bloggers and fellow little monsters enjoy these as much as I did!

Special thanks to Shea Wolfe for showing me these!

New in Bridal Accessories: I'm newly obsessed

Introducing the Heirloom Bouquet!
These bridal bouquets are made entirely of jewels! I personally always prefer jewels to flowers so why no carry on that idea to your wedding day? These are absolutely FABULOUS and can be found at Noaki Jewelry! I'm loving this idea and if I ever decide to take the plunge myself you will definitely see me carrying one of these down the aisle.

P.S. They are also rather cheap considering the intricacy... only $300. I would have thought at least $500.

The 2011 Oscars: A summary of my absolute FAVORITE red carpet looks & some that I'd prefer to NEVER see again!

Hollywood's hottest ladies sure had it going on at this year's Academy Awards! This surely is the awards show of the year and these beautiful starlets sure came dressed for the occasion! These looks are the one's my fashion-savvy friends and I simultaneously oohed and awed and drooled over during E's Red carpet coverage and I can't wait to share them with all of you Fashion Addicts!

Gwen Had to be one of my overall favorite red carpet looks of the evening! This Metallic Calvin Klein Collection gown is so sleek and modern! My favorite part is the unique neckline! Her hair and makeup were perfectly styled and paired with this modern and contemporary look.

I personally think that Cate Blanchett takes the cake for the title of best dressed at this years Oscars!  She looks absolutely gorgeous in this pale purple Givenchy gown! I personally think that Cate is one of the most stunning women in hollywood and this look made her appear even more unbelievably gorgeous!

Academy Award Winner, Natalie Portman looked absolutely flawless in this plum Rodarte gown! The Best Actress winner nabbed one of the most prestigious awards in Hollywood and glowed while she gave her acceptance speech! Could that be the Rodatre gown or the pregnancy? I'm not sure, but one thing I know for sure is that this gown was the perfect choice for a very prestigious and very pregnant Natalie Portman!

Lady in Red never looked so good! Last year's Best Actress winner, Sandra Bullock could have stopped traffic in this form-fitting Vera Wang gown! Sandra, whose natural beauty on any given day is jaw-dropping, made my heart skip a beat when she appeared on this year's red carpet! That just goes to show that you can never go wrong with Vera Wang, especially on one of Hollywood's red-hot leading ladies!

These four looks were my absolute favorite of the night. Each very different from one another just like the lovely ladies who wore them! As for the night's worst looks - Nicole Kidman's Christian Dior dress looked like an overly embellished shower curtain - Scarlett Johansson's lacy raspberry-colored Dolce & Gabanna gown left little to the imagination. It was very see through and a very inappropriate selection for the industry's most prestigious night. Sorry Ladies, maybe next year!
